5 Tips to Travel Fit
Amazingly we are only 5 weeks away from the major summer holidays. With that in mind, lets take this chance to chat about staying fit during your holidays.
1. GYM IN A SUITCASE
Not everyone is going to have access to a gym when they are away, nor should you need to, its summer holidays - get outdoors! However I do think there are a couple of essentials that you need to take with you on holidays.
What you’ll need:
Release tools: Mini foam roller + tennis balls
Suspension trainer - Optional (TRX, or cheaper options available online)
2. THE WORKOUT
So now that you have your portable gym, what do you do with it?!
I’ve made a simple to follow, time-efficient work out, to keep you on track whilst holidaying. It covers;
Part 1 – Self massage: Get the knots out (5mins)
Part 2 – Movement prep: Get the body moving (5mins)
Part 3 – Activation: Get the muscles firing (5mins)
Part 4 – Strength Circuit: Get fit and strong (15mins)

End of year parties and family gatherings are notorious for over indulging. To avoid taking in more than you need to, try and have a healthy snack before leaving the house so you are not as hungry, and therefore less likely to eat badly. Choose smarter options, both food and drink!
4. INCIDENTAL EXERCISE
Avoid the escalators - take the stairs.
Ditch the car - ride the bike or walk.
Don’t be a spectator - get up and move/dance/play.
5. RELAX + UNWIND
It can be tiring, all that eating and backyard cricket, ensure you get 7+ hours of quality sleep.
Avoid tech time: Under no circumstances check your email, social media accounts, or waste time fluffing around on your mobiles!
Ensure you take time for yourself, do the things you enjoy, this is your time to unwind and prepare for the New Year – it’s going to be a big one!
See you in 2018.
